A secure digital passport connecting horse identification, health, and movement

Officially introduced at the FEI General Assembly 2025 in Hong Kong, Equipass is redefining how horse information is managed worldwide. The platform was unveiled by FEI Director of Technology Operations Gaspard Dufour and FEI Veterinary Director Göran Akerström, highlighting its potential to transform equine management globally.
As the first digital passport of its kind, Equipass brings essential horse data into one secure, connected platform, supporting identification, health records, vaccinations, and travel documentation in a single, easy-to-use app.
Gaspard Dufour commented:
“This is the first platform of its kind to integrate horse identification, health records, vaccination tracking, travel documentation, and microchip scanning in a single, unified system, for lifetime traceability.”
Göran Akerström added:
“Equipass represents a milestone for our sport, combining technological innovation, international reach, and multi‑stakeholder collaboration in a way that has never been achieved before.”
Equipass will simplify compliance, reduce paperwork, and strengthen biosecurity, helping horses move safely and efficiently across borders. Built on trusted data, Equipass keeps information accurate, verified, and always up to date. Owners, athletes, grooms, veterinarians, officials, and authorities can access what they need all in one place.
With innovations such as thermal microchip scanning and lifetime digital traceability, Equipass supports equine welfare, integrity, and the future of horse sport.
Launching in January 2026 for FEI-registered horses, Equipass will expand globally in phases, with new features rolling out throughout 2026 and beyond.
